The Luckiest Man on Earth: Discourse on Love

"Who do you think is the luckiest man on earth?"

A small group of men were chatting while they took their lunch break, at work. Let's eavesdrop on them. Maybe they know something about luck that we don't.

"I think that I am lucky to be alive, Remember that accident at the mine, last year?"

"I do recall that, as I helped dig you out. You were lucky to survive; so were the other guys."

"Maybe you had an angel watching over you? Perhaps that's what luck is."

"But angels are not normally associated with luck, are they?"

"Luck? What is that anyhow? If I really knew what it was, I'd go after it."

"Luck is simply good management."

"No! That is not luck."

Probably not, but let’s listen in on the rest of the conversation. Maybe they will find the answer yet.

"The luckiest man on earth has not been born yet."

"There are men who are so lucky, everything they do turns to gold."

"There are other men who are lucky too. It is as if they were born with silver spoons in their mouths. They never lack anything."

"Some men have the luck of the Irish."

"What about the luck of men who find four leaf clovers?"

"That is luck based on superstition."

"I think some men are definitely much luckier than others or at least, it seems that way."

"There are men who have the luck of the draw, as they win lotteries."

"Sometimes, there are men who are downright unlucky too. Everything they do goes wrong."

"I consider myself to be the luckiest man on earth, because I am healthy and happy."

"I am the luckiest man on earth. I have a beautiful wife and a wonderful family. Wouldn't you agree that I am truly blessed?"

"What's that got to do with luck?"

"When I wake up in the morning, I feel like I am the luckiest man on earth."

"I am the luckiest man on earth, because I am in love!"

"I agree. I must say, you have to be the luckiest man on earth to be loved and have someone to love."

"You win!"
