Final Hours: A Unique Blessig

"Grandma, oh no!" Marie's mother had called to tell her that Grandma was asking for her. She wasn't expected to live the night. "Go and see her now, dear, as tomorrow may be too late."
"There's always tomorrow," Marie argued. "It's ten o'clock. I hate going there, at night."
But, she knew that her mother was right, so she dropped everything and headed for the hospital, hoping it not too late.
"Life always gets in the way, but I have to say goodbye."
Her grandmother looked very pale, fragile and angelic, as she slept. Her beautiful, gray hair shone in the light streaming through the window. Marie stood by her bed, prayed momentarily and then sat down beside her bed.

"I should have brought flowers."

Marie's grandmother awakened in the early hours of morning.
"Marie, thank you for coming," she whispered, feebly. "I wrote this for you."
"Thanks, Grandma," Marie said, accepting the letter she had written to her. "I love you."
Moments later, her grandmother breathed her last breath.
Later, Marie read her grandmother's note.
"Marie, each day has a unique blessing for you to enjoy, including today."
"What a wonderful thought!" Marie said aloud.
"Every morning, when you awaken, begin to look for your own unique blessing, for that day. Ask God to reveal it to you; know that He surely will. You will soon find that you have a blessing for every single day of your life. Perhaps there will be more than one blessing that waits for you. Know that your special blessing is a gift that God has given to you, one for you to claim as your own. It may delight or excite you. It may be for you alone; if so, enjoy it fully. You may be able to share it with others; do so, whenever possible.
Perhaps you do not see something as a blessing, immediately; it may appear to be more of a challenge, but accept it, willingly. You will be glad that you did. Count your blessings and number them, with your days. Know that I love you."
"Goodbye, Grandma," Marie said, kissing her on the forehead, gently. "And thank you."
